Tips for Eating Healthy when you Travel
Hey Ya’ll I am getting ready to travel on Monday and It’s a challenge to eat healthy when you travel. Whether you’re traveling for work or vacation here are some tips to help you stay on track and feeling your best mentally and physically.
- First get prepared for the flight. Here is a list of foods you can carry on the flight.
- 4 Foods to fly with
- Homemade sandwiches or premade salads are the way to go if you’re looking for a mid-flight meal – And you can include your favorite dressing as long as it’s in a 3.4 oz. or smaller container. Also remember not to use foil to wrap your sandwich, because that just might set off the x-ray and add an unwanted delay to your travel.
- Veggies such as carrots, celery, and broccoli paired with your choice of dip (hummus, ranch or salsa) are a good and super healthy snack food. Dips are okay as long as they are in a 3.4 oz (or smaller) container.
- Fresh fruit such as apples, bananas, or grapes is a good way to satisfy that sweet tooth while maintaining even blood sugar levels. This is especially good if like me you like to work while you fly.
- Healthy crunchy treats such as kale chips, popcorn or nuts are great to snack on during your flight. You can make your own trail mix or if you purchase a bag just make sure it’s not loaded with inflammatory oils or other not so good for you additives. Best nuts for your health, almonds,
