All you need is love…
I’m visiting my family in Alabama for a few days. We are at the beach and todays was just beautiful. My day to day life is full of photography, traveling, meetings, traffic, inspiration, and everything that goes with being a wife, a woman, and a business owner. But today was different. I floated around in the ocean for hours with my 3 year old neice Lily Reese. As we floated in the ocean we laughed, we played with each others hair, we talked about where the birds were flying to and what we would name our pet dolphins if we had one. We talked about our favorite colors, favorite foods, what time of day was our favorite time, what our favorite sounds are? She said her’s was the sound of Bells. Her favorite food is popsicle and she would name her pet dolphine Fiivvveeey. It was a pretty phonominal day. Then I took Knox, my nephew who is turing one, on a long walk along the shore as he feel alseep in my arms to the sound of the waves.
I found myself thinking about all the mommys and daddys who have these days and experiences often or even daily with there kids. What a gift. Lily Reese and I were getting ready for bed tonight and came out on the balcony to listen to the ocean and read a bed time story. Before I kissed her goodnight she said “You need to get a baby Aunt Jan Jan ” in her sweet southern accent.
Of course its a thought and a desire that I have for the future and when that time comes I can’t wait to sit my child for the entire day and learn so much about myself by just sitting in the ocean daydreaming.
Thank you for today Lily Reese I needed a day exactly like today to remind me that “all we need is love”.
You are a light and you make my heart sing.
Wow – I love the pink sky in this photo! So beautiful!! Amazing that you were able to capture that.

Thanks Jessica! The sunset was just amazing!
Too precious! We could all learn from our children if we just took the time to. Glad you had a wonderful day with them.
Thanks Brandy!
Such a precious, beautiful child and this post and image touched my heart.
Children are seriously just little gifts! Are you a mom?
Precious words and precious girl.
xo Nathalie!
Yes, I’m a Mom 🙂 of two beautiful teenage boys. Your niece is sweet… her picture made me think of what you must have looked like at that age. A child with the beginnings of a beautiful soul.
