Courtney + Tyler’s Joshua Tree E-Session

Hey ya’ll, I shoot a lot of engagement sessions and I love every moment of it! Many times we’ll shoot in a few of my regular locations because the views are just so breathtaking! It’s one of my absolute favorite things about living in Southern California! When Courtney and Tyler reached out to me about a desert shoot, I will admit I was a little lost since it’s not a regular location of mine. After a little bit of research I knew these two were going to love having their engagement session in Joshua Tree National Park!

Not only is Joshua Tree one of the coolest locations I’ve now shot in, Courtney grew up in the area and knew it was important for her to include that detail! The day of the shoot, I met Courtney and Tyler at the Korakeia hotel in Palm Springs where they were staying. The hotel had such a cool vibe we decided to start the photo shoot there. It was a great way to ease into the day but honestly, these two have such a great chemistry with each other it didn’t take too much easing into the shoot! Courtney and Tyler have a very chic rocker look to them that I admire so much! (It’s fitting because Tyler is a music guy!)

Towards the end of the day we make our way to Joshua Tree for the final shots. If you want to plan a shoot in the park, you can find a few tips I picked up during my research and my time there on another blog post! Ya’ll… this was my first time in the park and it is BREATHTAKING! The vast landscapes of Joshua Trees, boulders large enough to rock climb, and desert roads; there was so much potential for an amazing shoot!

An amazing shoot is exactly what we had! You can check out a few photos from Courtney and Tyler’s engagement session below! Working with these two was a dream and I was so inspired by their love for each other. I can’t thank them enough for suggesting a desert shoot because I had so much fun photographing these awesome people in such a grand location!
