Engagement sessions are such a perfect time for my clients and me to work together for hours. It is truly such a valuable experience. Personally, I am a photographer who likes to direct my clients throughout the shoot. Especially on engagement sessions. You see on a wedding day we have so many things happening like friends, family, traditions, kids, babies, and dogs to help those natural moments coming non-stop throughout the day. On the engagement shoot, it is just us so I consider it my job to create the movement and direction for my clients.

For instance, Courtney + Tommy are obviously a sexy, young, vibrant, couple who most people would assume are super comfortable in front of the camera. However, the first thing Courtney told me was that she was nervous about the photos and really wanted to be able to count on me for direction. Luckily I have worked with her sister and cousin and Courtney has seen me on a wedding day so she knew without a doubt I would take awesome care of them as far as directing and making sure that everything is looking amazing.  It took a little convincing to get them to show some skin and get in the water but boy I am glad we did. Right!!!!

For me these images really represent them and I know without a doubt that 20 years from now they are going to look back and be so happy that they have these photos.  Just thinking of this makes my heart swell. Showing people how beautiful they are is 100 percent my WHY.
