Happy Birthday to my amazing husband and best friend Dave Baez

Today is my husband’s birthday and I am going to take advantage of this awesome day and do a little bragging on my better half.  You guys probably know Dave as my husband who I’m always kissing or hugging on my instagram feed but you may not know everything there is to know about his tall, dark, handsome, soulful, big hearted , sometimes shy, super deep, spiritual being that appeared in my life almost 8 years ago.

Dave Baez is an amazing dad to 3 amazing little creatures June Jolie, Bugsy Baez, and the late Max.  Dave is an actor/model and has been living his dreams and been fortunate to make a living doing what he loves.  He has been on shows like Dexter, The Mentalist, Secret Circle, Vegas, Mismatch, and countless commercials. Okay here is the part I love as a photographer. Dave has been photographed by Bruce Webber, Mario Testino, David La Chapelle, Richard Avedon, and Richard Phibbs just to name a few. He has appeared in advertisements like Polo, Versace, Gap, etc !! If yall wanna see some of those images check out his website www.davebaez.com  ( Ya’ll I have to brag! Okay now to the important stuff. Dave has a very Puerto Rican spirit, he is laid back, cool as a cucumber and gentle hearted.  I have no idea how I got so lucky.  I always tell him that he is my gift.  The first 1/2 of my life was really tough and I went through allot of pain so I feel like God gave  Dave to me as a gift to make the second 1/2 of my life full of light.

He is the most amazing dad to June Jolie. He is not a weekend dad at all he is actually a weekday dad! He is the one who makes sure June has her tutoring sessions, Volleyball practice, get June to school, home from school, to all of her social engagements, and has been making her lunch for school every weekday since she was 5.

His best friend is his mom Bunny. There are weeks that he will call her every day on her lunch break. I have always thought that was so sweet. I never got to meet his Abuela but I feel like I know her. She passed away a few months after we meet. It was the first time I had ever seen him cry. I will never forget how vulnerable he was that day. He loves to talk about her and how she had 14 children in Puerto Rico before moving to Massachusetts.

  3. I know Dave personally and Jana this is an amazing tribute. I have known Dave since June was a baby and I have never meet a man that was a full time father and so dedicate to his little girl. Dave’s soul is so pure

I’m so glad that God brought you two together because you most definitely deserve one another! Two great hearted (& good looking) people deserve to enjoy their lives together!     But today was the best one, it was so personal, incredible, truly the sweetest thing ever. I fell in love with you two and the love that you have for another.     I get your blog emails, posts, see your work and everything you’ve become since our high school days and I’m so very proud of you!
    From the first day I met you in 8th grade, I said “This girl..she’s gonna go places!” You were ALWAYS kind to me, always loving and had a smile on your fave EVERYday…despite the hard times and pain life gave us sometimes. I’ll never forget you, in your cheer uniform and those legs and arms of steel…You deserve such a wonderful man as Dave and I have to say..Yep He’s a Hottie! You are beautiful inside and out and every word shows that! He’s lucky to have YOU too!
