Hey ya’ll! I am super excited to share a cool new smoothie recipe with you! I like to call it the Sleepy Smoothie. A good nights sleep is so beneficial for us. When we sleep our body heals, our brain takes a break, and our skin rejuvenates. In this fast pace life we all lead it is so important for you to get your beauty sleep. In general you’re likely to sleep better if you follow a healthy diet and here are some foods that can make sleeping a little easier. Foods such as bananas, cherries, honey, almonds, and dark greens contain chemicals such as magnesium, melatonin, and serotonin to help induce sleep.
Here is the recipe for the Sleepy Smoothie I have added to my nightly routine. I also dab a little lavender oil under my nose and on my pillow. OH, & silently name 5 things I am grateful for even on the worst days before I fall asleep.
Give this recipe a shot and let me know how it works for you!
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1/2 fresh medium banana
- 1/2 cup pitted cherries
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon honey
Place the ingredients into your high speed blender and blend for around 30-45 seconds or until your desired consistency is reached.
